Great Bay National Wildlife Refuge, established in 1992, is a 1,000-acre refuge located along the eastern shore of New Hampshire's Great Bay in the town of Newington. It protects diverse habitats such as mud flats, salt and freshwater marshes, swamps, ponds, streams, woodlands, and fields, providing a haven for migratory birds and other wildlife. The refuge is known for its significant population of wintering bald eagles and is home to several rare and endangered species native to the area.

Wildlife trails on an old part of Pease AFB. Easy flat trail through the woods and wetlands. Ending on Great Bay. Large parking lot with bathrooms and trail maps. Good time to get outside
