I spend a great deal of my free time thinking about shoulder problems and coming up with ways that we can improve our knowledge through scientific research and technological advancements. I have published many papers and textbook chapters on a wide range of shoulder conditions, including shoulder replacement, shoulder fractures, rotator cuff repair, labral tears, shoulder instability and the cost-effectiveness of shoulder surgery. I have also worked to develop and teach new technology that is utilized worldwide to improve the precise execution of shoulder replacement surgery.

Joseph Shin, MD, is a distinguished plastic surgeon based at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire. His specialties include pediatric plastic surgery, craniofacial surgery, aesthetic and cosmetic surgery, and breast surgery. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Shin serves as the Medical Director of the Comprehensive Wound Healing Center and is a Professor of Surgery at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth.
