Division of Public Works

Nashua Street Department, based in Nashua, N.H., oversees the improvement and maintenance of the city s streets. The department s employees perform construction projects for the betterment and extension of city systems, including road building and widening, drainage projects, landscaping and slope stabilization, sidewalk, and curb and gutter construction. The department also works to keep Nashua's streets safer by repairing potholes, snow removal and ice control during inclement winter weather and sweeping streets in the warmer seasons. It is a division of the Nashua Public Works Department, that oversees architectural, civil, structural and mechanical engineering services, including project and construction management. The department has more than 200 employees.

Ledge Street School was founded in 1957 and is located in Nashua, N.H. It has an enrollment of more than 500 students in grades kindergarten through six and offers an average class size of 15. The school has a parent-teacher organization that supports and funds a wide range of activities and events. The organization purchases agenda books and folders for students, organizes yearly trips and school family nights, and builds and renovates various school facilities, such as playground, cafeteria and fitness center. The school also offers a variety of programs, such as music and intramurals, as well as enrichment programs that include gifted and talented program, reading strategies and advanced curriculum. Ledge Street School is affiliated with the Nashua School District.
