Salem, NH 03073

America's Stonehenge, located in North Salem, NH, is a mysterious and ancient site that boasts a maze of man-made chambers, walls, and ceremonial meeting places. Believed to be over 4,000 years old, it is considered the oldest man-made construction in the United States and shares similarities with England's Stonehenge. The site's accurate astronomical calendar and various inscriptions, including Ogham, Phoenician, and Iberian Punic Script, have intrigued researchers, with ongoing research supported by souvenir purchases.

Visitors to America's Stonehenge can embark on self-guided tours or opt for VIP guided tours, both of which provide insight into the site's history and features. The trail, although challenging for visitors with mobility restrictions, offers a gradual incline and showcases uneven rocky terrain. Photography is allowed for non-commercial use, and an orientation film is available for all visitors to watch before exploring the site. With upcoming events, such as snowshoeing and a drum circle during the solar eclipse, America's Stonehenge offers a unique and intriguing experience for all who visit.

could not agree more with the previous review. this place is a joke. don't waste your money ($11 per adult) or time, although we did enjoy a walk through the woods off the beaten path.
