I specialize in the treatment of complex coronary artery disease. I strive to provide care that is respectful of my patients’ individual preferences. This patient-centered philosophy guides all my clinical decisions. Establishing a partnership with my patients helps me understand my patients’ needs and values. We collaborate to make important clinical decisions together. My goal is to ensure the best possible quality of life for my patients. My care team will work with you to know you and to treat you as a whole patient — developing individualized care plans. Your cardiovascular health is part of your overall health. Your physical, mental, and social needs receive equal attention.

I believe in helping my patients be active participants in their own health care. This involves thoroughly and compassionately explaining their conditions to them, and then listening carefully to their concerns and needs. When a patient’s care involves family members or caregivers, I listen to their complaints and concerns as well. And I remind them to care for themselves so that they can better care for their loved one. I feel I’ve done my best work when my patients understand about their disease and feel empowered to take control of their own care.

As a nurse practitioner, I aim to work collaboratively with my patients to help them manage their chronic illnesses and bothersome symptoms so that they can live healthy, satisfying lives. I draw on my previous experience as a Cardiovascular ICU nurse to aid patients in their transition from acute illnesses to chronic management.
