The Women and Children's Center of the Sierra (WACCS) is a nonprofit organization founded in 2008 that aims to empower women living in poverty by providing resources and support to help them create a better life for themselves and their families. With a mission to offer a "hand up" rather than a "hand out," WACCS serves women at or below 185% of the poverty level, offering various services including a diaper bank, employment preparation, and crisis intervention.

Since its inception, WACCS has positively impacted over 4,000 families, with more than 110 women graduating from its programs into sustainable careers.
