VFW Post #12108, named in honor of Sargent John Strozzi, a local WWII veteran, has been an integral part of the Beatty, Nevada community since its charter in May 2011. Known as "The Can Do Post," it has grown from 36 to 119 members and proudly houses the only Medal of Honor awarded to a Nevada service member during WWII, along with an extensive collection of decorations and memorabilia.
Housed in a historic 1905 Rhyolite church, VFW Post #12108 has made significant improvements since its establishment, including the opening of a Canteen in late 2013 and ongoing renovations to enhance its facilities. The Post engages its members through regular meetings and various activities, fostering a strong sense of camaraderie and community support.
