Maria started her dressmaking career over 25 years ago in Colombia. She completed intensive courses in clothing design and fabrication and pattern making. She came to the United States in 2010 and set up a small sewing shop in New Jersey. She had her husband moved to Nevada in 2016 where she opened Old Threads to New in Carson City offering a full range of alterations, clothing repairs, and custom sewing.
