Founded in 1974, the New Horizons Academy is a nonprofit, private school that assists students with learning differences. The academy offers classes in reading, science, social studies and math. It provides instruction in art, music, computer technology, social skills development, and physical and character education. The New Horizons Academy also offers after-school enrichment classes that feature activities, such as dance, drama, golf, tennis, cooking and basketball. The academy provides auditorium, gymnasium and playground for service organizations and businesses on a rental basis. In addition, it manages a parent-teacher organization.
