Kristy Wilson, CPM
History
Now providing midwifery services in the South Central Pennsylvania region! As a mother to eight children and a Certified Professional Midwife through the North American Registry of Midwives, Kristy blends her professional experience of being a trained, skilled midwife and doula with her compassionate and nurturing presence. As a mother, she is grateful for the impact her own midwives have had on her life - and it is with an appreciative heart that she offers midwifery and doula care to her clients. She has had the honor of serving over 300 families and been present at the births of approximately 200 babies, including twins, VBACS, homebirths and hospital births. In addition to midwifery and hands-on labor support, Kristy provided postpartum care to hundreds of women through her well-reputed placenta preparation team which has served over 500 women since 2013.
Specialties
Giving birth, and preparing for labor, is a personal and intimate experience. It helps to have a midwife who has both professional and personal experience. In addition to attending hundreds of births as a midwife and doula, Kristy Wilson, CPM, has given birth naturally eight times, including six homebirths, and a birth-center waterbirth. Her personal experiences with natural childbirth inspired her to become a source of support and guidance to pregnant, laboring, and new mothers. Traditionally, midwifery was not a career, but a rite of passage handed down from one generation to the next. Experienced women served to support pregnant women and assist them through pregnancy, birth and even after. Kristy's midwifery training and education combined with her personal experiences in childbirth make her an invaluable resource.
