Giants Come Down
History
While working as a Collection Representative in the Automated Collection System (ACS) department of the IRS, I received calls from taxpayers burdened by their IRS tax debts. Many of those taxpayers were overwhelmed and extremely frightened. As an IRS employee I was very limited in the type of information I could share to bring about resolution to their tax obligations. I had inside knowledge but could not share it because of the conflict of interest. Compelled to make a difference and offer hope to taxpayers, I resigned my position with the IRS and immediately pursued a career as an Enrolled Agent. As an Enrolled Agent, I have earned the privilege of practicing, which is, representing taxpayers, before the Internal Revenue Service. Enrolled agents are unrestricted as to which taxpayers they can represent, what types of tax matters they can handle, and which IRS offices they can practice before.
