Founded in 1944, the YMCA of Southern Nevada is a nonprofit organization. It offers health and fitness, aftercare, and youth and adult sport programs. Its fitness program includes classes on yoga, arthritis, splash, liquid toning and water aerobics. The organization also offers homework assistance, tutoring and mentoring services for children. The YMCA of Southern Nevada s aftercare program includes recreational activities, monthly field trips and fun projects. Its summer day camp programs include swimming, arts and crafts and games, as well as character development classes. The organization also offers fitness therapies for people with hypertension, diabetes, arthritis, cancer and obesity. Its outreach program includes dance classes, service projects and fundraising activities. The organization also provides a certification course on strength training for fitness trainers and staff members. It maintains a location in Las Vegas.
