For over 10 years, Dr. Thorp has worked with a culturally diverse population of children, families and adults in both community mental health, and small group settings where she focused on individual therapy for adults, adolescents and couples coping with life stressors, addiction, chronic disease.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist in private practice in Gardnerville, Nevada (CA PSY23951; NV PY0674). My psychotherapy approach is best described as Integrative. Although there are hundreds of psychotherapeutic approaches, it is my experience that many of these different perspectives offer techniques that are complementary and helpful. I select primarily from these psychotherapy orientations: Cognitive-Behavioral, Psychodynamic, Narrative and Humanistic-Existential. The Integrative approach empowers one not only to solve personal problems but also to achieve psychological growth and a sense of well-being. Dr. Thorp has experience working with individuals and families challenged by chronic and acute health conditions such as cancer, HIV, diabetes, obesity, spinal cord injury, chronic pain, and post-traumatic stress related to medical conditions, accidents and combat. For over 10 years, Dr. Thorp has worked with a culturally diverse population of children, families and adults.
