HistoryWe started in 1998 in Los Angeles. 2 active duty Los Angeles County Sheriffs deputies and 1 LAPD member of the S.W.A.T. team were also moonlighting as bodyguards and private security for Michael Jackson. This turned into other referrals for celebrities and grew to where they couldn't keep up with the requests for services. We were known as American VIP Services and soon grew to hiring off duty officers and those just out of the military. We began training our staff at an off-site facility and developed a protocol of security standard operating procedures that became universal in the industry. In 2002, the son of one of the retiring officers decided to develop the web based side of things and created Celebrity Bodyguard Services. We expanded to Las Vegas in 2008, New York in 2009, Washington D.C. in 2010 and Dubai and Abu Dhabi UAE in 2011. We've expanded into Miami in 2012 with plans for more expansion and franchise opportunities.
