History

The Otoe County Genealogical Society was founded on March 6th, 2008 by Curtis Wolbert and Linda Worrall. Nine members were present at the inaugural meeting and our constitution and by-laws were drafted and adopted at that time. Since then, our society has grown to 60 members, with 20 of those members residing in 15 different states. Our society is a charter member of the Federation of Genealogical Societies (FGS) and the Nebraska State Genealogical Society (NSGS).

Specialties

The Otoe County Genealogical Society specializes in assisting researchers in locating their Otoe County, Nebraska ancestors. Researchers can submit query requests to have our genealogist research, photocopy, and then mail them copies of obituaries, death notices, birth notices, and even Otoe County marriage licenses for a minimal fee.
