The Knight Museum and Sandhills Center in Alliance, NE, is dedicated to preserving, honoring, and educating visitors about the rich history of Alliance and Western Nebraska, highlighting the Sandhills pioneer spirit. The museum features five distinct areas of local history, including Life in the Sandhills, Native American Life, Life in the Country, Life in the Town, and The Railroad, along with the secondary theme of Rogues, Rascals, and Visionaries that examines the influential figures of the region.
In addition to its diverse exhibits, the museum houses a Heritage Room with extensive genealogy resources, including digital and original city and county records, local newspapers, and genealogical files. It is also home to the Lue R Spencer DAR Library, which offers a valuable collection of resource books for family history research and assistance for those filling out Daughters of the American Revolution applications.
