Girls and Boys Town, the original Father Flanagan s Boys'Town, first opened its doors in 1917. Girls and Boys Town s mission has been to provide food, clothing, shelter, education, spiritual guidance and medical care to homeless, neglected and abused boys. The name was changed to Girls and Boys Town in 1979, and the same care has been extended to girls.
