Chadron State Park, Nebraska's first state park, was established in 1921 and is set amidst the unique buttes and canyons of the Pine Ridge region. A century-old destination, it continues to attract visitors for camping, family gatherings, and nostalgic getaways in one of the state's most renowned landscapes.
The park boasts a variety of amenities such as archery ranges, basketball courts, biking trails, cabins, fishing spots, food services, hiking trails, lodging options, and more. Visitors can marvel at the spectacular night sky above the ponderosa pines, relax by the swimming pool, or enjoy a picnic next to charming cabins.
Outdoor enthusiasts can explore over 100 miles of hiking and biking trails that weave through the park and adjacent Forest Service lands. Fishing and hunting opportunities abound, with stocked ponds, archery deer hunting, and a shooting complex offering 3-D archery targets and a pellet gun range. For a memorable experience, guests can partake in guided horseback trail rides through the scenic park.
