Central High School, opened in 1859, offers education in a range of subjects, such as art, business and marketing, English, family and consumer science, mathematics, military science, social studies and special education. The school also conducts classes in music, physical education, and Spanish, Mandarin, German, Latin and French languages. Central High School offers several sports programs, including basketball, soccer, golf, tennis, softball, volleyball, wrestling and cross country. The high school also maintains a store that sells caps, shirts, jackets, shorts, calculators, erasers, crayons and notebooks. Located in Omaha, Neb., Central High School offers memberships to a photography club, student council and the National Honor Society.

Benson High School

Founded in 1904, Benson High School is one of the oldest high schools in Nebraska. It enrolls over 1,500 students in grades 9 through 12 and offers a variety of academic and recreational programs. The school conducts classes in English, math, science and social studies, as well as in art, music and physical education. It also provides vocational training in agriculture, business education, family and consumer science and industrial technology. Benson High School employs a librarian, speech pathologist, psychologist, nurse, teachers and support staff members. It has various facilities, such as a science classroom wing, an auditorium, gymnasium, student commons area and a football field. The school participates in the National Aeronautics and Space Administration s Student Launch Initiative program. Benson High School is located in Omaha, Neb.
