Established in 1927, the Urban League of Nebraska is a nonprofit organization that offers direct services through programming and advocacy for economic self-reliance, parity, power and civil rights. Headquartered in Omaha, Neb., it is one of the affiliates in over 30 states of the National Urban League movement. The Urban League of Nebraska partners with various organizations, such as ConAgra Foods, First Data Corporation, Lozier Corporation, The Burlington Capital Group, McCarthy Group, American National Bank and MidAmerican Energy Holdings Company. It employs various volunteers who offer a variety of fundraising, community awareness and leadership skills development programs. The Urban League of Nebraska operates the Whitney Young, Jr. Academy, which provides opportunities for the academic, personal, career and social development of people.

Family Housing Advisory Services, also known as FHAS, is one of the premier, nonprofit housing counseling agencies in Omaha in Nebraska. The agency administers a financial fitness education program that features individual budget counseling solutions, as well as monthly workshops in English and Spanish. Its tenant services program includes assessment, case management, budget counseling, and housing rental and subsidy information solutions for families who are homeless. Family Housing Advisory Services offers educational programs for homeowners. The agency provides affordable mortgage lending products and foreclosure prevention options. It manages a fair housing center that fights housing discrimination in Nebraska and western Iowa.

Founded in 1920, Omaha Home for Boys is a charitable organization offering a wide range of services and programs for youth and families. The organization has served more than 9,000 boys from various parts of the United States. It has a capacity of more than 60 at its main campus and over 25 at its Cooper Village facility, a residential psychiatric treatment home. Its main campus includes residential cottages, a learning center with a library, computer lab, art center and classrooms, recreation center with a gymnasium, swimming pool, weight and game room, wood shop, and tennis and racquetball courts. Omaha Home for Boys is nationally approved by the Council on Accreditation of Services for Families and Children. It is located in Omaha, Neb.
