History
Josephine's Speakeasy is a casual, craft cocktail bar tucked into an old homesteader cabin just a few miles from Glacier National Park. It is named after Josephine Doody, who developed a thriving bootleg operation on her remote, 160 acre homestead her and her husband called home. It was located in Glacier National Park along the Middle Fork of the Flathead river, a few miles from West Glacier. She sold her moonshine to the Great Northern Railway workers. The train would stop and wait for Josephine to ferry her moonshine across the river in a small boat. Life in Montana was hard in the early 1900s but Josephine and her husband Dan seem to have made the most of it.
Specialties
Josephine's Speakeasy offers delicious handcrafted cocktails made with local spirits from neighboring Glacier Distilling Co. along with a tapas/small plate menu using local ingredients, showcasing a taste of Montana.
