The Three Forks Area Historical Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich history and culture of the area surrounding the Headwaters of the Missouri River in Three Forks, Montana.
Operating two seasonal museums, the Headwaters Heritage Museum and the Railroad and Trident Heritage Center, the society offers visitors a diverse collection of artifacts and exhibits, including Native American art, Lewis and Clark memorabilia, fur trader exhibits, mining and agriculture displays, and a notable barbed wire collection.
