Kairos Youth Service

Kairos Youth Services is a private non-profit organization that operates three community based youth homes in Great Falls, Montana. Youth in placement live in a healthy structured environment that provides safety and security. Youth are offered educational, social, cultural and recreational opportunities. They receive personal guidance, supervision, individual and family counseling, and referral to appropriate community resources. Youth exit our programs with improved school performance, fewer legal problems, and the skills necessary to become productive members of our community. Youth Spotlight Jerome was a 17-year-old male whom we enrolled in our Aftercare program, in December 2009, after an assault with a weapon charge. We had discharged him from the Missouri River Youth and Shelter Home two years earlier before we established the program. His parents encountered legal problems throughout their lives, and remain involved with the Department of Corrections to varying degrees. During his participation in the program, Jerome has obtained his GED, including a perfect score of 800 in Language Arts. He also completed a chemical dependency evaluation, and regularly attended weekly group sessions as recommended. We discharged Jerome from the program when he turned 18 in April 2010. He is completing the application for admission into the College of Technology, and pursuing financial assistance. He is also interested in securing CDL certification. We will continue to be available to provide assistance if needed. Jerome attained remarkable progress in such a short time, very impressive accomplishments. We are extremely proud of you. Way to Fire!
