DMVW Railroad, established in September 1990, operates 502 miles of track across North Dakota, South Dakota, and Montana, having initially acquired 360 miles of Soo Line track. Its network has expanded to include several key line segments, such as Washburn to Max and Oakes to Hankinson.

Headquartered in Bismarck, ND, DMVW Railroad maintains field offices in Crosby, Wishek, and Oakes, North Dakota, as well as in Britton, South Dakota. The railroad leases a significant portion of its track from Canadian Pacific Railway and continues to build its presence in the region.
