Huck Finn's Home

Located within the Mark Twain Boyhood Home and Museum campus in Hannibal, MO, stands the historic Huckleberry Finn House. To explore this piece of literary history, visitors can obtain tickets for the property tour at either the Interpretive Center on 415 North Main Street or the Mark Twain Museum Gallery on 120 North Main Street. According to local lore, the Blankenship family once resided in a dwelling on North Street. Although the original Blankenship residence was razed in 1911, the property later passed into the hands of the Coons family. In a generous act, Chris Coons bequeathed the land to the Mark Twain Home Foundation in 1998, stipulating that the house should be reconstructed. Thanks to the philanthropic support of the Parham family, the reconstruction of the Huckleberry Finn House was finalized and celebrated with a dedication ceremony on May 26, 2007.
