Centrec stands for Center for Treatment Rehabilitation Education and Counseling. It is an outpatient behavioral health facility approved by JCAHO for treatment of psychiatric and substance abuse disorders. It was founded in 1986 by Mohammed A. Kabir, M.D., now a Distinguished Life Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association.Centrec's treatment modality of partial hospitalization ( receiving treatment during the day while staying at home at night ) has made it possible for many patients to recover from illness with intensive, quality care received at the facility.
