I would say that I'm a very down-to-earth guy, and I think that probably carries through very quickly when someone meets me. I am not someone who tries to carry any pretenses - what you see is what you get. I love what I do, I'm very passionate about it, and I truly feel it is a privilege to be able to provide cancer care.

I've been doing oncology for about 20 years. Things have changed a lot. Before, we were just doing chemotherapy drugs and patients would have issues with nausea coming to the cancer center for treatments. Now, we have patients having dinner and lunch while getting chemotherapy, which is a huge change. Not only that, we are moving more and more towards targeted treatments, where we are finding out the mutations that are causing the disease process and we can attack them - and that limits side effects.

It's a very exciting time for cancer treatment right now with the developments in immunotherapy, targeted therapy and personalized medicine. We're able to offer things we couldn't even dream of before. Being the one who is able to provide those options to patients is humbling and it's a blessing.
