Founded in 1983 and chartered in 1986, ASSISTANCE LEAGUE of Kansas City, a chapter of ASSISTANCE LEAGUE, is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization with a history of philanthropic service to the greater Kansas City community. The organization raises its own funds and has no paid staff; all programs and fundraising activities are staffed and operated by over 250 volunteer members with two auxiliaries: Heartland Auxiliary and Assisteens. Each year our members donate over 18,000 hours of service and touch thousands of lives in our community.
