Owned and operated by French Colonial America, The museum campus of the Centre for French Colonial Life, features an exhibit facility and four historic houses, including the late 18th century Louis Bolduc House, a National Historic Landmark, and the best restored example of French Creole vertical timber architecture in the United States. The campus is open year round, seven days per week. In the modern exhibit facility, you can explore displays about the French and Spanish colonial period in "Upper Louisiana." The professional staff also offer hourly guided tours of the LeMeilleur and Bolduc houses, in which you can discover the story of the unique French Creole identity and way of life that developed in this region before the Louisiana Purchase. And from March through November, guests can experience living history activities and demonstrations at the "Linden" House on Saturdays.
