I enjoy family medicine because you get to see a variety of conditions and illnesses, but you also get to focus on preventive care. My favorite part about my job is helping my patients meet their healthcare goals by making them part of the decision making process, educating them and getting to celebrate their victories. I look forward to treating my patients and their families.

I always loved talking to people and doing the best that I could to help them. And that very easily led me into the medical field because it is such an act of service. Starting into medical school I knew that I liked working with kids. Starting my third year of medical school, I actually came to Springfield for rotations. We spent a lot of time at Mercy with different specialties. I was able to work also while I was here with a family practice doctor that did OB. I learned how great that could be. I fell in love with the prenatal care aspect of it. I learned that I could do prenatal care with moms, and I could take care of their babies. I hope patients feel like they can approach me if there's any concerns. I plan to be as available as I can. And that's something that I really liked in my training, having the ability to talk directly to patients and be available by phone for any concerns that might arise.
