History We are a family that truly believes the saying. "Follow your heart." We started as "Grandma's Parlor in Frenchtown St. Charles, MO in 1993, as an antique shop. In 1996 we moved to Kimmswick, MO and added a Victorian tearoom in 1997. "Grandma's Parlor, LTD and Tearoom" was located in the historic "Shad-Caldwell House" for close to a decade! Driving through St. Louis one day, we came across our present location on Utah Street, which just happened to be for sale, and just happened to be another "historic" building, south of beautiful Tower Grove Park and the Botanical Gardens. In recent years, we had noticed more tearooms opening in the St. Louis area, but all a drive away from St. Louis City. So we thought, "Hmm...why not "The St. Louis Tearoom Built in1926 as a corner neighborhood grocery store and confectionary, the corner of Utah Street and Roger Place had many faces over the years, as it was a soccer club, offices, and even a boarded-up building. We have finished the restoration of the building, added a kitchen and restroom, extensively decorated, and now have the present beautiful tearoom and gift shop for guests to enjoy!
