Sensient Colors, a subsidiary of Sensient Technologies, produces certified colors and custom dyes for the food, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, household and personal care industries. Its customers include manufacturers of paper and packaging products, household cleaners and disinfectants, ball point and felt-tip writing instruments, fertilizers and herbicides, dyes for wood stains, dyes for printing inks, water tracing, automobile windshields and taillight lenses, and antifreeze. Sensient offers solvent-soluble dyes that produce transparent shades on a number of plastic materials, including styrenics, cellulosics, polyamides, polyolefins, polycarbonates, acrylics, rigid PVC and engineering resins. The company is headquartered in St. Louis and operates production facilities in four countries throughout the world. The company was known as Warner-Jenkinson before being acquired by Sensient in 1984.
