Car Fi

Car-Fi Since 1986 the HistoryIn 1986, a man had a vision. A former Car Audio buyer from one of the top ten Electronics Retailers of that era, he developed a business plan that would change the way the general public of Southwest Missouri would purchase mobile electronics, forever. His plan was to provide the Springfield Missouri area with a Mobile Electronics specialty store, a concept that was outside the standard practices of Electronics Retail at that time. A place to find a higher level of audio expertise and service plus a better quality of product. After acquiring the rights to sell products from some of the most elite brands available (first independent 12V Only dealer for Rockford Fosgate, Alpine and Kenwood in SW Missouri), a location was secured at 1600 S. Glenstone Ave. and a small group of 12V specialists were hand picked to man the operation. And so, Car-Fi was born on November 1st 1986 and its blue and yellow awning became a familiar sight on Glenstone Avenue. Over two decades of success has proved the mans vision was on the mark. That man was Rick Snelson, the President of Car-Fi. With a two car install bay and hand-built displays for car stereo, the original store was a far cry from the Car-Fi of today. But, the Springfield area loved it. By the late eighties, seeing a Car-Fi sticker on the back of a car or someone wearing on of our T-shirts was quite commonplace in Springfield. Some of our first jingles, recorded by the Ozark Mountain Daredevils, are still well remembered today by many a Sprinfieldian.
