Puxico Public Library
The Puxico Public Library, established in 1937, is the only log cabin library in operation within the state of Missouri. Originally built with cypress logs from the nearby Mingo National Wildlife Refuge, it has evolved from its beginnings as the Mingo Wildlife Refuge Headquarters into a vital community resource that has served various purposes including a school and city hall.
Spanning two levels and covering 5,200 square feet, the library offers a diverse collection of books, magazines, DVDs, and children's materials, as well as computers for public access. With ongoing events designed for people of all ages, the Puxico Public Library continues to foster a love for reading and learning within the community.
