HistoryThe Hearing & Speech Clinic at KU Medical Center is a student clinic providing the region's most cutting edge care. Our students in the Au.D., Doctor of Audiology Program provide clinic services, work as office staff, and develop marketing and business support to maintain the clinic. Each doctoral student provides care under the supervision of our Audiology Faculty. This model allows our students to not only learn the fundamentals of providing audiology service, but to learn the business side of audiology and what it takes to maintain and operate a live clinic. We have transparent unbundled services, meaning our patients only pay for what they need unlike retail hearing aid stores. We have access to all six major hearing aid manufacturers and offer a range of over-the-counter amplification options as well. Being a student clinic, every recommendation is supported by current scientific literature and we utilize the latest technology in diagnostics and treatment. Students work with their licensed supervisors who are faculty members in the Audiology department at KUMC.
