Peaceful Pastures Donkey Rescue

PPDR is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located on roughly 230 acres outside of Cole Camp and Lincoln, Missouri. Our mission is to end cruelty to donkeys by rescuing those who are abused, neglected, malnourished and elderly. We provide medical, nutritional and behavioral support to rehabilitate them with hopes of adopting them to carefully vetted, loving homes. We currently have over 200 donkeys, 4 mules, 2 hinnys, and 10 horses in our care. As a nonprofit, we rely on donations and fundraising to cover costs of feed and medical care for the donkeys, as well as maintaining grounds. We fundraise primarily through events and tours, and luckily all staff are unpaid volunteers. Tours are 3 hrs in duration and take you through the rescue process. We show you the facilities and explain the process from intake to adoption. Best of all, you have meet-and-greet opportunities with several very friendly rescues throughout the tour. Everyone who tours has a blast and several have returned.
