Ozarks African American Heritage Museum

The Ozarks Afro-American Heritage Museum is the only museum dedicated to the history of African Americans in the Missouri Ozarks, founded by Fr. Moses Berry in 2004. It collects artifacts and photographs that shed light on the forgotten history of this region, offering exhibits that trace the lives of African Americans from slavery to emancipation and the struggle against racial violence and Jim Crow racism.

Recently migrating to a digital space, the museum aims to share this unique part of Black history in America with a wider audience, providing an overview of African American history in the Ozarks through exhibits and item descriptions taken directly from Fr. Moses Berry's oral histories.
