In 1962, John Greer and his wife purchased half interest in the Million Funeral Home under the name Million and Greer Funeral Home of Moberly and Million-Burton and Greer Funeral Home in Higbee. Mary Alice Chapman, 93, of Mendon, MO died on Thursday, February 10, 2011 at the Moberly Regional Medical Center. She was born on September 5, 1917 near Mendon, MO the daughter of Albert Dalton and Charlotte Tatsch Hess. She was married to Wilfred Wallace Chapman on August 22, 1941 at Mendon, MO. He preceded her in death on November 17, 2005. Wilfred and Mary Alice owned and operated Chapman Implement Company from 1955 to 1965 where she was the Bookkeeper. They were engaged in farming for the next 30 years. She was a member of the Mendon United Methodist Church where she served as Treasurer for many years. She is survived by two children; Bill Chapman and his wife Carol of Webb City, MO, and Carol Ann Ladd and her husband Paul of of GlendaleAZ; three sisters, Elsie Clavin of of LibertyMO, Viola Schondorf of Conroe, TX and Leona Moser of of BrunswickMO; one brother, James Hess of of MoberlyMO; three grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Kathryn Schmitt. Funeral services will be held at the Mendon United Methodist Church, Monday, February 14, 2011 at 1: 30 P.M with Pastor Martha Truax officiating. Visitation will be held at the Gibson Funeral Home in in MendonMO, Sunday, from 4: 00 - 5: 30 P.M. Burial will be in the Siloam Chapel Cemetery at Mendon, MO. Pallbearers will be William, Scott and Jay Roderique, Brad Chapman, Patrick Ladd and Cody Stark.
