I rarely give out a 5star rating and actually dislike the ecovillage as a whole but the Milkweed is an amazing place and the original owners are amazing people whom I will always wish the best.

Begun as an online store in 1997, the Milkweed Mercantile two-story strawbale Inn, Cafe and Green General Store opened in April of 2010. Winner of an Eileen Fisher Socially Responsible Business Grant, owner Alline Anderson continues to work hard to make the Mercantile as sustainable and accessible as possible. From the great local food served in the cafe to the home-style friendliness with which guests are treated, the mercantile demonstrates that a sustainable life is not about deprivation, but can be about beauty, joy and happiness.
