Established in 1996, the Maryville Treatment Center is a 40-plus-acre correctional facility that can accommodate up to 560 offenders. It provides alcohol and substance abuse treatment services. The center offers a six-month treatment program for more than 200 offenders who have been stipulated by the Parole Board for the Offenders Under Treatment (OUT) Program and the Board Substance Abuse Program (BDSAP). The Maryville Treatment Center also provides transitional counseling, self assessment, personalized treatment planning and community preparation programs. It maintains a staff of over 200 employs. The center is owned and operated by the Department of Corrections of the state of Missouri.
