Jackson County Bar Association
The Jackson County Bar Association (JCBA) is a voluntary bar association primarily composed of African American attorneys from the Kansas City metropolitan area. Established during a time when African American lawyers were excluded from the American Bar Association and the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, the JCBA aims to ensure justice and equal opportunity for the African American community while improving the administration of justice in Missouri.
Each year, the JCBA awards scholarships to minority law students from the Kansas City Metro area, funded through their Annual Scholarship and Awards Banquet. The organization also hosts events, such as their annual holiday party, to foster networking and community engagement among legal professionals.
