Gregory Nelson, MD

Dr. Schroer is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with sub-specialty expertise in total knee replacement, one of the co-medical directors of the Joint Replacement Center at SSM Health DePaul Hospital, and the SSM Health Network Medical Director of Orthopedics. He completed his general surgery internship and residency in orthopedic surgery at University Hospitals of Cleveland/Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Schroer is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS) and a member of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons. One of the initial proponents of minimally invasive knee replacements, Dr. Schroer has performed more than 6000 knees with this technique.

Ryan Pomajzl, MD, MPT, ATC, is a board certified orthopedic surgeon with fellowship training in sports medicine and specialty training in minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, elbow, knee and hip. Dr. Pomajzl performs surgical repairs of sports-related injuries as well as knee and shoulder replacements and other general orthopedic procedures. Dr. Pomajzl earned a master's degree in physical therapy and certification in athletic training from Saint Louis University. He received his medical degree from Creighton University in Omaha, NE and completed an orthopedic surgery residency at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine in Royal Oak, MI.

Dr. Katherine Burns is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with sub-specialty fellowship training in sports medicine. She completed an international traveling fellowship sponsored by the Ruth Jackson Orthopedic Society in 2005 with a focus on shoulder surgery. Dr. Burns is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, the Ruth Jackson Orthopedic Society and the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine. On a local level, she is a member of the Missouri Orthopedic Association.
