I think, as a patient myself, I like when doctors form a connection with me and get to know me. So that?s how I?ve practiced as a physician myself. I like getting to know my patients, creating a longitudinal relationship with them, so that when I care for them on a medical side, I can understand their preferences and their beliefs so that we can form a plan together to help get them better.

They should always be able to voice their concerns too.

I would say a good piece of advice for my patients' is don't be afraid to advocate for yourself. In pregnancy especially, you are the only one who feels the symptoms you're feeling. You are the only one who knows your body best, and as doctors, we try to do everything that we can do help you, but sometimes we need you to alert us to what else we can do to help you.
