History

ERA Cape Realty was founded in March 1958 by C. R. Haertling. Its first location was 121 N. Pacific Street. Within two years the staff had grown to three associates and the office was moved to 1936 Broadway. The business remained at this location for 12 years, and then in 1973 it was moved to 2121 Broadway. After remaining in this location for 22 years ERA Cape Realty now occupies a new office complex which was completed at 1409 N. Mt. Auburn Road, Cape Girardeau, Missouri in December 1995. The ERA franchise was acquired in July 1982. This franchise was chosen because of the products and services it offered such as the Home Protection Plans. ERA is the largest marketer of Buyer and Seller Protection Plans in the nation. In August 1987 David S. Glastetter purchased ERA Cape Realty and became the managing broker-owner of the firm. From its early beginning in 1958 with one salesperson, ERA Cape Realty has grown to a full service company.
