East Middle School

South Middle School offers various academic and extracurricular activities to students in grades six through eight. The school enrolls more than 500 students annually. It offers various sports activities, including basketball, cheerleading, volleyball, football and wrestling. South Middle School also features a band, orchestra, student council and vocal music sessions. The school provides after-school care programs that include homework assistance and tutoring services. In addition, it has a parent-teacher organization that encourages parental involvement in their children s education. South Middle School administers various programs, such as Zeros Aren't Permitted and the Project Citizen. The school is located in Joplin, Mo. It is a part of Joplin School District, which operates several elementary, middle and high schools.
