Bitrode Corporation began as an in-house department developing formation chargers for Acme Battery, a manufacturer in St. Louis. The company developed into a stand-alone company, known at that time as Meteor Production Engineering, that provided charging solutions to manufacturers of automotive, standby and motive power batteries. Bitrode then developed lines of production and laboratory test equipment to meet the demands of many segments of the battery industry. Additionally, the company works to see that this equipment integrates with research and development and manufacturing flows, with software interfaces developed for network control, data acquisition and analysis. Bitrode Corporation was founded in 1957 and maintains its corporate headquarters in Fenton, Mo.

Operational since 1947, Essex Industries designs and manufactures products for defense, aerospace, emergency medical, fluid power, health care, petrochemical and automotive industries. Its range of products includes pressure regulating equipment, pneumatic and hydraulic controls, cryogenic systems, fuel and environmental transfer control valves, avionics cooling blowers, actuators and specialty components. The company operates Alar Products, Essex Cryogenics and Dolphin Systems. Essex Industries also manages a full-service manufacturing facility that provides engineering, machining, assembly, processing and anodizing capabilities. In addition, the company offers regulators and fuel pumps and filters under the SX Performance brand. Essex Industries offers oxygen concentrators and liquid oxygen in ambulatory, portable and stationary units for homes, hospitals and emergency egresses.
