Founded in 1854, Dierbergs Markets is a family-owned and operated chain of stores. Headquartered in Chesterfield, Mo., the company operates more than 20 upscale supermarkets in the St. Louis area and employs over 5,000 associates. Its stores offer groceries, deli food, drugs, bakery products, fresh produce, gift baskets, flowers and plants, meat, seafood, liquor and cosmetics. Additionally, its stores provide photo processing, movie rental, self-service checkout, catering and knife-sharpening services. Some of the company stores feature made-to-order Chinese food, banks, customer clubs and car carts for children. Dierbergs Markets was the first supermarket in the country to provide in-store cooking schools staffed by professional home economists. The company offers gift cards, online recipes and newsletters and home delivery of flowers and gifts. It has several locations in St. Louis.
