Metro Emergency Transport Service is a privately owned ambulance service serving the communities in and around Joplin, Mo. METS is accredited by the Missouri Department of Health as a training entity and by the American Heart Association as a CPR/First Aid Training Center. METS offers a wide range of classes to the area emergency medical services providers and to the general public. METS encourages those persons who are interested in the emergency medical field to be a passenger in one of Metro Emergency Transport Service s vehicles during its hours of operation. METS serves 10 cities and 100 square miles. With more than 30 paramedics on staff, the service operates 10 ambulances, four of which are operated 24 hours a day. The company is headquartered in Joplin, Mo.
