Community Treatment, also known as COMTREA, is a private, nonprofit domestic violence shelter. Founded in 1972, the agency offers a range of mental health care services for the residents of Jefferson County in Missouri. It provides adolescent chemical abuse treatment, gambling addiction counseling, and psychological and psychiatric evaluation solutions. COMTREA offers referral, recovery planning, and outpatient and day treatment programs. In addition, the agency provides stress management, crisis intervention and violence prevention services to more than 8,000 persons annually. It offers shelter advocacy solutions for battered women and their children. COMTREA provides counseling services for individuals, groups and families. It features a fully-equipped kitchen and playrooms.
