Community Fire Protection District Station 1

The Maplewood Police Department is responsible for all law enforcement and crime prevention activities, as well as conducts crime investigations. It has a code enforcement unit that addresses public health and safety issues, including regulations related to garbage, removal of vegetation, zoning, dangerous buildings, housing and inoperable vehicles on private property. The department undertakes various criminal cases and works with other state, local and federal agencies to ensure public safety. It additionally maintains a team of school resource officers that conducts investigation, makes arrests and provides constant security through foot patrol inside the city of Maplewood s middle and high schools. The Maplewood Police Department has been operational for more than 100 years.

Founded in 1919, the Florissant Valley Fire Protection District is a full-service fire department that provides fire protection and emergency services for the city of Calverton Park, part of Hazelwood, the city of Florissant and a large portion of St. Louis County, Mo. It has three fire stations and its equipment consist of trucks, front line pumpers, tankers, ambulances, grass and light-rescue rigs, heavy-rescue equipment and various utility vehicles. It offers complimentary child safety seat inspections. The district, in partnership with the Florissant Police Department, offers the community emergency response team training several times a year.
